ABSTRACT: Developing vocational education programs for careers in quantum computing is essential to prepare the next generation of professionals for the emerging quantum technology sector. This study aimed to design effective vocational education programs tailored to quantum computing, assess their impact on students' skills and competencies, and evaluate overall student satisfaction with the training. A survey design was employed to gather comprehensive data from participants in quantum computing training. The sample size comprised 150 students from technical institutions specializing in advanced computing technologies. Purposive sampling was used to select participants with a foundational understanding of computer science and mathematics. The case study was conducted at the African University of Science and Technology, Abuja, Nigeria. Findings indicated that vocational programs significantly enhanced students' understanding of quantum algorithms, improved their skills in quantum programming languages such as Q# and Python, and provided hands-on experience with quantum simulators and hardware. Students expressed high levels of satisfaction with the curriculum, appreciating its relevance and practical applications. It was recommended that vocational training institutions continuously update their quantum computing curricula to incorporate the latest advancements and foster partnerships with leading tech companies to provide students with real-world experience.
